Bottles on the Sill is a zine lending library that sprouted into a zine and craft distro in early Spring 2004. Jessica opened the business because she wanted to share unique items that deserved more attention. Besides creating her own zines she has expanded the distro with her own knit projects and tons of hand stamped and lettered stationary designs. ‘Blend Creations’ seemed like a fitting name when husband-and-wife design team Eric Jean-Louis and Vivian Cheng decided to partner in an artistic venture. Though they were both raised near Ottawa, Canada, the pair had set out to blend lineage (his Francophone; hers Asian) and design influences to forge a unique aesthetic for their jewellery and greeting card offerings. While Eric creates graphic work for national and international clients and Vivian has won product design awards, their divergent methods are beautifully harmonized in the clean aesthetics and smooth usability that define Blend Creations. Eric and Vivian find inspiration for their work in the design of everything from furniture to housewares to graphic art.
